Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- All scientific texts must be submitted through the Electronic System for Journal Editing (SEER) / Open Journal Systems (OJS).
- Submitted manuscripts must be original and unpublished, and must fall within the scope of the journal. Work that has been presented or published in conference proceedings, institutional repositories, or authors' personal websites are accepted.
- Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration by another journal, regardless of language.
- Manuscripts must be anonymized. This includes removing all identifying information regarding the authors and their institutions from the manuscript and references.
- Manuscripts must be structured according to the formatting guidelines presented in the " Manuscript Submission Format" section.
- Author information must be submitted in a separate file, uploaded as a supplementary document, as instructed in the " Manuscript Submission Format" section.
- In the case of co-authored scientific texts, the contribution of each author should be identified in accordance with CRediT - Contributor Roles Taxonomy: Conceptualization; Data curation; Formal analysis; Funding acquisition; Investigation; Methodology; Project administration; Resources; Software; Supervision; Validation; Visualization; Writing – original draft; Writing – review & editing. Texts signed by more than 3 authors will not be allowed.
- Texts may be written in Portuguese, Spanish or English.
- •If translation services are required, the direct costs will be charged to the authors of the approved manuscripts. These services are provided by professionals accredited by the RBEUR Editorial Board in accordance with fees previously agreed upon with the journal.
- The content of the manuscript is the sole responsibility of the authors, who must, however, inform the editors of any potential conflicts of interest - personal, commercial, political, academic, or financial - that may have influenced the submitted material, and must clarify how such conflicts have been resolved. In addition, authors must explicitly state in the manuscript any financial support received, including any economic or personal connections that enabled the work to be completed.

In accordance with ethical standards and best practices in research communication, RBEUR informs authors that the use of Artificial Intelligence in the preparation of manuscripts submitted to the journal is permitted only for the following activities:
a) Search, systematization, and final organization of references;
b) Organization of databases and the creation of tables, charts, and graphs;
c) Final review of the text to improve grammar and spelling, in accordance with standard language conventions.

Articles must cite and reference the data, codes, and other materials used or generated by the research, which must be made available in open access before submission, as a condition for approval. In cases of secrecy or confidentiality, the justification must be recorded in "Comments to the editor," with the final decision resting with the Editorial Board.
Reviews
The “Reviews” section publishes reviews that deal with books, published over the last three years, related to the field of Planning and Urban and Regional Studies. Reviews will be assessed by the RBEUR Editorial Board.
Articles
The “Articles” section publishes original and unpublished manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of theoretical and/or empirical knowledge in the areas of interest of RBEUR. The manuscripts sent to the Journal, once approved by the editorial team, will be submitted to an unidentified assessment by at least two reviewers with expertise in the field of study related to the content of the work (blind and peer review).
